What is a Compactor / Vibrating Plate / Wacker?
A Compactor (also known as a Vibrating Plate, Plate Compactor, Rammer or Wacker) is a motorised piece of construction equipment which is used to compact earth, road base, crushed rock, etc to consolidate it into a hard and stable surface suitible to build on, lay paving on, etc. A VIBRATING PLATE is very heavy which assists it in compacting the surface it is used on, and is generally powered by a small petrol engine. VIBRATING PLATES, COMPACTORS, WACKERS, etc are used by landscapers, concreters, pavers, etc and are used widely both here in Australia and around the world.
